KCJL Back to School Events Calendar
KCJL - Jan 2nd, 2014
"Blessed are those who are generous because they feed the poor." Proverbs 22:9 (01/10/2014)
The KCJL kids had the opportunity to pack food for the poor children in Philippines. This was a very rewarding experience for all those who attended. The kids were part of the group that packed the "manna rice" that will serve 40 kids for a year. The kids also donated $500 that was raised for this purpose by doing bake sale earlier in the year.
Thanks to all who participated despite the bad weather.

Dear all,
KCJL will be going for Feed My Starving Children packing on Jan 2nd at 8 pm to 9:30pm at Schaumburg church. We will be donating $500 that was raised by the kids doing the bake sale. We have reservations for 30 people. Adults and kids who are interested in doing a volunteer service for a charitable organization during this Holiday Season please contact the KCJL coordinators. For the enormous blessings The Lord has shed upon us, let us give him Thanks and Praise by spending 2 hrs of our lives, for packing food for the needy children all around the world.

KCJL Trip to Camp Duncan (08/04/13)
Dear all,
KCJL kids had a great time on Sunday August 4th going to YMCA Camp at Ingleside, IL. Our trip started at 8:30am from the KCS Community Center and we reached Camp Duncan around 10:30am. We had lot of activities such as scavenger hunt, climbing towers, canoeing in the lake, animal senses, star lab, archery, group games and camp fire. The kids were pretty much occupied the whole day. They were able to explore the nature and have fun while involved with adventurous activities with their buddies which made it even more exciting. We would like to thank all the parents and kids who supported this event. Please see the attached pictures.

Dear KCJL team, please join us on 8/4/2013 for a one day trip to camp Duncan
This is a YMCA camp that is located one hour away from the North side of Chicago with lot of outdoor activities such as boating, archery, wagon rides, climbing tower, teams course, group games, outdoor education classes, hiking, scavenger hunts, Frisbee golf, campfires, night hikes, and much more.
We believe this is an excellent opportunity for the KCJL kids to enjoy the outdoors with their friends and also engage in exciting, adventurous as well as team building activities. A fee of $30 will be collected from the kids which would include the camping fee and one meal.
Transportation will be provided. Please bring the signed waiver form when you come in.

KCJL bake sale event - 05/17/2013 @ Gateway Theater
Dear all,
KCJL kids had an opportunity to raise money for Feed My Starving Children on 4/20/13 at CMA competitions held at the Syro Malabar Church. The kids were very excited to be part of this project. They had a great time working for a good cause. It was a great learning experience for them as well. We were able to see some budding entrepreneurs. Thank you to all volunteers who contributed to this project. It was very rewarding for everyone involved whether you helped with bringing baked items, contributed money or you spend your valuable time and service to make this a reality. We were able to raise $280 from this event, which will all be donated to Feed My Starving Children.
Alisha Chollampel, Lian Chollampel, Lucas Cheriyathil, Alan Poothurail, Shawn Padinjarel, Tasha Thuruthuvellil, Hansen Kizhakkethil, Nibia Thaiparambil, Angela Viruthikulangara, Jenna Viruthikulangara, and Emily Thachet volunteered for this project.
We will be conducting another bake sale event on 5/17/13 at the Gateway Theater during the KCS fundraising program and request all community members to help us out for this good cause. KCJL kids have an opportunity to raise some money for the Feed My Starving Children Project on this day. Anyone who is interested in baking cookies, cakes, muffins, brownies etc please let us know. Also if any kids are available to help out, even for few hours, on that day please contact us via email. We need volunteers all day.
Feed My Starving Children is an organization that packs and mails food to starving children all over the world. 100 percent of the bake sale will be contributed to this organization.

The KCJL committee has decided to have this years Halloween celebration by watching the movie "Paranormal Activity 3".
We'll be watching it at Showplace in Golf Mill Mall at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday the 22nd. Go to the website below to get more info about the movie. Please respond, so we can reserve seats.
