KCS Sports Forum: Cricket Tournament
A new level of game plan and participation was noted this year at the KCS Cricket Tournament. There were teams outside the state of Illinois and new players showed up within Chicago to join the teams. All the teams performed up to their best in all aspects of the game. They were steamed up when bowling and fired up when batting. In one of the game, everyone was on the edge till the last ball. It is a great achievement for the association as whole and a big success for the subcommittee of KCS.
The games were done in 20/20 format in limited 10 over matches.
A special thanks to Detroit Stallions led by George Chakkacheril for their effort to join us all the way from Detroit. The championship was earned by Shaji Edatt and team while Sybu Kizakkekuttu and team settled for Runner up. Most of all, the very first man of the match award went to Jubin for his amazing batting.
The day began with a moment of silence by the team members to observe the death of Mrs. Annamma Kaniyalil, the mother of the KCS president. In total there were 4 teams captained By Cyril Parayil, George Chakkacheril, Sybu Kizakkekuttu and Shaji Edatt. The games were so entertaining and well worth it for the spectators.
A special thanks to Luke Alapattu and Justin Thenganatt for all the hard work. It was their selfless effort that made the tournament a big success.
A great appreciation goes to Mr. George Nellamattam for sponsoring the man of the match award and Chicago Friends Club for providing all the sports gear and equipment for the tournament.
Another important thing that stands out that is that the team captains have invited all the players for victory party and contributed the awarded cash back to sports forum after all their expenses.
Sports Forum would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners and participants. We are so thankful to the members of KCS and the Executives for all their support. The words are not enough to express our gratitude to the team of Jose Kaniyaly , Roy Nedumchira, Jeeno Kothaladyil , Sunny Idiyalil and Stephen Kizhakkekutt ,for giving sports forum the opportunity to make all of this happen.
Looking forward to meeting with you all for the next tournament. Please click the link below to view the action.

KCS Volley Ball Tournament 2015
Max Thachet's team are the champions, Edat's team is runner up.
This is a beginning of a whole new era for KCS Sports. There have been sports events done in the the past but this time it was different. Normally basketball is the sports youngsters will be interested in but now it is evident that there are players in our community that would play any sport if given an opportunity. It proves that the forming of sports forum is probably one of the most effective ways to bring in the youngsters together under the name of KCS. There were players under the age of 10 , over the age of 40, there was spectators on the bleachers and there was noises in the air while the teams gain points and lose points. Overall it was the day for youngsters to celebrate along with the KCS community. After all this will probably put more serious thought in people's minds for the need of the dream project of KCS gym.
The game began with prayer and it was inaugurated by KCS president Mr. Jose Kaniyaly by receiving the ball from sports forum chairman Shiju Cheriyathil. There were a total of 6 team for high school and up and 4 teams for the middle schoolers. In both sections the games kept good quality and kept the spectators on edge. We literally had to wait till the last game of the pool to find out who is going in to the semis. The final four teams captains are Philip Edatt, Max thachet, Shawn Kadalimattom and Shane panayaparampil. At the end the team captain Max thachet won the title.
In the middle school section the champions were captained By Sanal Kadalimattom and the team mates are Isabel Cheriyathil, Serena Cheriyathil, Ben Ammaikunnel, Chelsea Ammaikunnel, Jaiden Kallidukkil and Jubin Vettikattil and the runners up are captained by Derek thachet and team mates are Briyana kalapurayil, Sam thuruthuvalil, Alexis Cheriyathil, Sarayah Cheriyathil and Shawn Chollampell . The Kcs president distributed the trophies for the champions and runners up.

Easter Egg Hunt A Success
April 4th, the morning was sunny and a little chilly but that didn’t stop about 50 kids as they hunted for colorful plastic eggs scattered across the grass at Lake Opeka in Des Plaines. Children enjoyed hunting for Easter Eggs, getting their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and filling their basket with goodies. Special thanks to MS GRANITE INC for sponsoring Dunkin Donuts and Coffee and all parents who braved the little chilly morning to let your kids have fun.
